Elizabeth Schoonmaker

I live and work in the Town of Plainfield in upstate New York. I received a Master of Fine Arts from the University at Albany and have exhibited my work in Chicago and New York. In my career as an artist and resident artist at Munson-Williams -Proctor Arts Institute, Utica, NY and Hartwick College, Oneonta, NY, I have launched several community-based projects. I founded “The Drawing Company”—a program offering drawing classes and exhibition opportunities for elderly residents of Brookfield, NY. Following "The Drawing Company" I created “A Wedding Gift,” a historical narrative, featuring stories and photographs about memorable wedding gifts and their owners. My picture book Square Cat was released by Aladdin Books/ Simon & Schuster in 2011. Square Cat ABC followed December 2, 2014.
